Local Ministry

Deacon Teams

Deacons are leaders within our church tasked with carrying for the physical needs of our church body and the mobilization of our congregation towards ministries of mercy, justice, and mission.  The biblical description of deacons is found in Acts 6 and 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.  Deacon literally means servant.  Deacon Teams, therefore, are servant leadership teams of men and women within our church who are working towards the completion of our missional and biblical goals. While these teams are overseen and led by our ordained deacons, ultimately the ministry of these teams is carried out by our entire congregation. Find a full list of teams and deacons here

Jobs For Life

http://www.jobsforlife.org/

CtK's primary local focus for mercy and justice is Jobs For Life.  Over 3 billion people live in poverty--and our city has a growing poverty problem.  We work to stop this worldwide crisis and offer purpose through meaningful employment. JfL is a mentorship program to help restore dignity and attack poverty 1 person at a time.  CtK partners with other local churches and organizations to provide training and equipping for the unemployed and underemployed.

Safe Families for Children

http://safe-families.org

CtK has partnered with Safe Families in Raleigh to serve families in crisis. Safe Families is a volunteer movement that connects the children of parents in distress with host families who have been called to open their hearts, their arms and their homes to serve those in need. The Safe Families experience starts at church, where families are invited to not only change the lives of a fellow family for better, but to enrich their own with untold blessings by living out the gospel. By hosting these vulnerable children along with support from the church, this extended family environment helps keep children safe and reunite families. To learn more or start serving with Safe Families, contact Pamela Lietz

Refugee Ministry

CtK has started a refugee ministry to "welcome the stranger" who lives in our midst and help newly arrived refugee families settle in to life in the US. For more information on this team, contact John Holton

Church Planting

CtK's main initiative in growing the Kingdom is starting new churches locally, regionally and internationally.  We believe that the best way to make disciples is to start new churches.  We are partnering with this church plant:
