About the Project

The daily reading project was developed by the Discipleship Journal, a publication of NavPress, for use in churches. We have found it one of the best of its kind. In it you will find daily readings divided into four columns, two from the New Testament (NT) and two from the Old Testament (OT). The first column is made up of NT readings from the gospels, and the second column is made up of NT readings from the Acts of the Apostles, letters to churches, and the book of Revelation. The third column is comprised of OT readings from primarily poetic writings, while the fourth column is comprised of OT readings from historical books and prophetic writings. The plan is designed to take you through the whole Bible in a year by reading from all four columns.

While you are welcome and encouraged to read as much as you like and have time for, the CTK project will only include two columns per day, thereby stretching the plan across two years. This decision results in shorter, more manageable portions of biblical text for those who are new to reading the Bible daily, and more time to reflect on what the Lord is saying to us through his sacred word.
