At CTK, we believe the Scriptures teach that the local church is to be led by a plurality of elders. Elders are ordained officers of Christ's Church, nominated and elected by a local congregation to oversee the governance and pastoral care for that specific congregation. We also believe the Scriptures teach this is an office open only to men.
Prior to serving as elders, our constitution requires that the men interested in serving complete formal training in the qualifications and work of an elder. CTK offered this formal training last Spring.
There were some men who desired to complete the training in the Spring but, because of their schedules, were unable to do so. Therefore, CTK will be offering a second round of formal training for those men interested in serving as elders in Christ's Church. The training will consist of six sessions. The sessions will be from 8-10 pm, every other Monday, starting October 6 and ending December 15, 2008.
